Apple Uglies

One night, my roommate came back from the vending machine to announce to me that there were two packages marked "Apple Ugly" blocking her way to the orange Hostess Cupcakes. We puzzled over why such a foodstuff would even exist.

Eventually we decided that we'd each buy an apple ugly and split the cupcakes. The uglies tasted weird and overly-processed, and neither of us could finish one. The cupcakes, on the other hand, were divine.

But honestly. Apple Ugly?! What is it?

Look at it. Look at that almost pitiable apple logo staring straight back at you, as if to ask, "Why do I exist?"

(Hell if I know.)

I promise the rest of the photos on here were taken outdoors.

Guerilla Art

Two different documentations of my "guerilla art" Surface project. The first is the one I ended up using, but I think the second one is pretty cool-looking, too.

A Misty Day

This is the view from Bowe St. on a foggy, misty day. I thought it looked really pretty, though I couldn't get the camera to capture the feel of it very well. Here it just looks gloomy. But I swear it seemed inspiring at the time!

Surface Project

These are of my Surface project as I experimented with different ways of executing and documenting it. I didn't really like the finished product; I think the process was more interesting.

Occupy Richmond

The tail end of Occupy Richmond, through my window.

Here are the protesters again. They were making a lot of noise going around Monroe Park. I think these two different pictures are kind of cool-looking, even if they aren't exactly clear.

Richmond In The Evening

Shafer Court with a view of the library.

Some intersection on the way home from the parking deck. Both these pictures were taken on separate nights when I looked around and thought the city looked beautiful.
Here's another of the same view with a car rushing past. Lights are kind of beautiful when they're blurred.

Scenes From A Richmond Parking Deck

Views from the balcony of Bowe St. Parking Deck at two different times of day. I was out there working on my camouflage project, diligently grinding wet charcoal into the wall with a paintbrush.

The Leaves Are Turning

A pretty fall view of Franklin St. I go this way to Bowe St. Parking Deck a lot.

The Ryland Heart

There is a piece of sidewalk gouged out along Ryland that I have never been able to see as anything other than a heart.

Fire (Drill?)

At about 2:00 AM last night (or this morning, to be exact), I woke up to sirens and a whole lot of people talking outside. I looked out my window to see that not only had Brandt evidently been evacuated, but that there were fire trucks parked outside. Now, either someone pulled the alarm (in which case they're a bastard), there actually was a fire (in which case the firemen didn't seem in too much of a hurry), or VCU just enjoys keeping us on our toes (in which case... well, they're bastards). Whatever it was that happened last night, I do not envy the people of Brandt Hall.

Cozy! (In 3D Vision)

There has been graffiti of Charlie Sheen on these pillars on Ryland on the way to Bowe St. Parking Deck for weeks now. What's relatively new is the 3D glasses.
